The Bodyguard

The skin is the body's largest organ and it is vital to our health and survival. It acts as a bodyguard to protect us from infection and potential environmental damage. It's also like a working laboratory with complex chemical reactions constantly going on to keep cells regenerating, repairing damage and even converting sunlight into vitamin D.
It is waterproof and a great shock absorber. It works as a thermostat to regulate our body temperature and it allows us to experience the wonderful sensation of touch. The skin truly is an amazing organ that does so much to take care of us, the least we can do is to take great care of it.

Oil and the Skin

Oil acts as the skin's natural protective barrier, which hydrates and nourishes the skin. Natural plant oils help to fortify and strengthen this barrier as they are similar to the oil that is produced by the skin, so they are easily recognised and absorbed without clogging the pores. These oils originate from the nuts or seeds of trees, fruits, vegetables and flowers and are rich in essential vitamins, minerals, omega oils and fatty acids, which are vital to well being, health and beauty. The use of natural plant oils supports the production of collagen, which is the key to radiant, healthy, glowing skin.

Oil Based Skincare

Using oil based products are much more effective at protecting and nourishing the skin as many of the oils will penetrate the skins layers and also does a good job of mimicking the skins natural oil or sebum. Thus providing a protective, oily layer on the surface of the skin that helps prevent water loss.

Oil based products also go a lot further than water based ones therefore you only need to use a small amount for the product to be effective.

The Oil Cleansing method

The oil cleansing method is a gentle way to cleanse without stripping the skin of its natural precious oils. When oil is massaged into the skin it dissolves dirt, make up and impurities that have been stuck in the pores. Oil cleansing provides the necessary moisture to prevent skin from over-producing oil. Try the oil cleansing method with our Cleanse Balm or Refine cleansing oil. Use our warm muslin cloth to open the pores and allow the oil to be easily removed. Your skin will be gently but thoroughly cleaned, leaving nothing but a healthy glow.
